The Stamford Convention & Visitor Bureau
Created in 1993 by the Connecticut General Assembly, the Convention & Visitor Bureau is a not-for-profit economic development, sales and marketing organization representing the fifteen communities of southwestern Connecticut. The Bureau represents all travel and tourism-related businesses, marketing these businesses to domestic and international leisure travelers, meeting planners, tour operators, sporting event organizers, the film industry, travel agents, and travel/trade media. Treetops - Chamber Music Society
Located just 45 minutes north of New York City in the Greenwich-Stamford area of Connecticut, Treetops CMS sits within the historic Treetops estate, its stage the former art studio of American artist Louis Schanker. Since its founding in 2006, Treetops CMS has presented a stellar roster of international artists, among them the New York Woodwind Quintet, harpsichordist Anthony Newman, the Shanghai Quartet, and artists from the MET Orchestra. Since 2008, Treetops CMS has also attracted some of the most talented young chamber musicians in the country through its J.C. Arriaga Chamber Music Competition.
