STAMFORD TOWN CENTER WELCOMES FIVE NEW STORES, THREE MAKING THEIR CONNECTICUT DEBUT
Released: 03/27/08
STAMFORD, Conn., March 6, 2008 - Stamford Town Center will introduce five in-demand retailers - three of them new to Connecticut.
The three stores making their state debut this year are a 25,000-square-foot flagship XXI Forever, men's premium footwear leader Allen Edmonds and luggage legend Samsonite Black Label. Fine jeweler Ross-Simons, along with men's and women's apparel head-turner Zara, will also join the vibrant store lineup.
Opening later this year, XXI Forever is a trend-savvy shopper's paradise. Its style-conscious juniors apparel is paired with price tags sporting the greatest value. At 25,000-square-feet, this larger format boutique from the Forever 21 family also offers lingerie, footwear, cosmetics and accessories.
This spring, Allen Edmonds debuts its men's footwear to Connecticut. It's known for handsome dress shoes, quality hand-craftsmanship, comprehensive sizing from AAA to EEE and its Recrafting service, a process that restores a favorite Allen Edmonds shoe into a near-new condition at a fraction of the cost of new shoes.
FIVE NEW STORES
Quality and character are synonymous with Samsonite Black Label, which sells premium luggage and leather goods for the travel connoisseur. The selection includes travel shoes, beauty cases, men's and women's business cases, garment bags and more. Some of the pieces have been custom-designed by such internationally renowned designers as Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson. It, too, opens in the spring.
Ross-Simons, a trusted jeweler since 1952, it is committed to providing the best in affordable jewelry and luxury gifts. It offers collections in gold, certified diamonds, pearls, gemstones and sterling, as well as select estate pieces and famous maker timepieces from Rolex, Breitling, TAG Heuer, Raymond Weil and more. Additionally, gift items and collectibles, including Lladro pieces, are available when the store opens this spring.
Zara, a men's and women's clothier with Spanish roots, designs, makes and sells its own apparel. It's ability to spot trends and manufacture clothing to reflect them in a matter of a few weeks rather than the typical months has industry experts calling it "possibly the most innovative...retailer in the world." It's expected to open in the fall.
Stamford Town Center transformed the south side of the mall in November 2007, adding six new sit-down restaurants, including The Capital Grille, which debuted in the new Plaza February 25. The center now has a Looney Tunes-themed children's play area and a 450-seat food court on Level 7, with Subway, Sbarro's, Panda Express, Sole Mex, Great Wraps. Two additional restaurants will open soon. Other recent additions to the center include Who.A.U., a young men's and women's apparel store, and Swarovski, the world leader in cut crystal.
"We're pleased to offer these exciting retailers to our visitors," says Michael McAndrews, general manager of Stamford Town Center. "We've truly transformed the center with our new open-air plaza, restaurants, play area, food court, and now this selection of shops. It's an exciting time to visit Stamford Town Center."
