Mall Celebrates The Lion King's 10th Anniversary on Broadway
Released: 08/13/08
STAMFORD CT, August, 2008 --- An exhibit that explores the inspiration and evolution of the groundbreaking production of Disney's The Lion King is now on display at Stamford Town Center during the entire month of August, 2008. The Lion King's 10th Anniversary Celebration Exhibit features behind-the-scenes photographs, costume sketches, and costume pieces. Five exhibit walls and showcase displays will be shown in the mall's Center Court and new Atrium entrance next to Barnes and Noble.
According to Jim Zielinski, the Stamford Town Center Marketing and Sponsorship Director, the Disney exhibit is the result of a recent marketing alliance between the mall and Ticketmaster. 'Our Customer Service Center is now an official retail outlet for Ticketmaster', he said, adding 'This presents a wonderful opportunity for our customers to see first hand the extraordinary work of Disney on Broadway'. The promotion includes a special ticket offer available to mall shoppers. "While the mall exhibit highlights The Lion King, shoppers can also save on their tickets for all Disney shows on Broadway, including The Lion King, Mary Poppins, and The Little Mermaid if they purchase from the Customer Service Center", Zielinski said.
The 10th Anniversary Celebration Exhibit reveals the astonishing vision of Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor and the passion of the more than 1,100 cast members, musicians and backstage crew members who perform The Lion King around the world every day. Since its Broadway opening in 1997, The Lion King has been seen by 45 million people worldwide. In addition to New York City where the show has remained among the top 5 selling shows on Broadway for 10 years, the curtain of The Lion King currently rises six more times every night all over the world in London, Hamburg, Tokyo, Paris, Fukuoka and the US national tour.
The Stamford Town Center Lion King exhibit will be open to the public free of charge during all mall hours. Stamford Town Center, with Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's and 130 fine stores, is located at Exit 8 off I-95, at the intersection of Tresser and Greyrock in the heart of Stamford Downtown.
